Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $1,909 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Knoxville, Tennessee. The position is for a PACU RN with a 13‑week duration, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. Employment type is travel, with an immediate opening.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and care for post‑operative patients as they recover from surgical anesthesia.
• Offer a crucial care step between surgery and recovery, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition.
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Possess good coping skills for stress and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
