About the role

Malone Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN OR Scrub RN for a position in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role supports a facility with 9 operating suites and handles 10-30 cases per day, including General, GYN, Ortho, Urology, ECTs, pain blocks, ENT, and occasional vascular, neuro, and head and neck procedures.

Schedule

• 4, 10-hour shifts per week (0700–1730, with potential early start at 0630 based on case needs)
• No self-scheduling; schedule assigned based on facility needs
• 6 call days per 4-week schedule period, including weeknights and weekends
• Holiday call may be required if holidays fall within the contract period
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical cases, including assisting with call shifts
• Adhere to facility policies: no nail polish for scrubbed personnel, only stud earrings (unless covered), and no necklaces/jewelry
• Support circulator in PACU as needed during patient recovery

Requirements

• Active BLS certification
• Experience with General, GYN, Ortho, Urology, ECTs, pain blocks, ENT, and occasional vascular, neuro, and head and neck cases
• 1 week of unit/department-specific orientation

Work Environment

• Manager/Charge Nurse present on every shift; Charge Nurse may take assignments or cover lunches based on staffing
• Two surgical aids available for room cleaning and patient transfers
• EMR: Cerner
• Facility-provided scrubs
