Travel Nurse RN - OR Scrub RN - $2,375 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR Scrub RN for a travel nursing job in Cleveland, Ohio. Specialty: OR Scrub RN; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; 40 hours per week; Shift: 8 hours, days; Employment Type: Travel. The position is for an Operating Room Scrub RN with an immediate opening, requiring 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, with potential RN first assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients during surgical procedures.
• Handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field.
• Prepare instruments for specific surgical procedures.
• Monitor and observe the patient during surgery.
• Respond to potential complications alongside the physician.
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Inventory surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Ensure that the correct procedure(s) is being performed on the correct patient.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating and/or scrub nurse (RN first assistant experience a plus).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of easily lifting 20 pounds; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Awareness of hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
