About the Role

Travel nurse RN OR Scrub RN position in Wheeling, West Virginia. Duration: 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, day shift (8 or 10-hour shifts: 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5). Employment type: Travel.

  • 50-mile radius rule; licensing requirements must be disclosed at submission.
  • 15 operating suites with 55-70 cases per day.
  • Common cases include all procedures, including same-day and overnight stays.
  • Scrubbing required; RNs provide preop care only.
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor and OR techs on staff.
  • EMR: Sunrise (EPIC go-live in April).

Responsibilities

  • Provide preop care in the surgical center (not a free-standing facility).
  • Scrub for all procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries.
  • Weeknight/Call Requirement: 1-2 second calls per schedule (monthly), involving a 24-hour call shift on one weekend day (7A-7A).
  • Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends with an 8-hour shift (7-3) on Saturday or Sunday, plus a 24-hour on-call shift (7A-7A) on the other weekend day.
  • Holiday/Call Requirement: 1-2 second calls per schedule (monthly), involving a 24-hour call shift on one weekend day (7A-7A).
  • Call response time: 30 minutes.
  • Float to OR holding area as needed.

Requirements

  • BLS certification required.
  • IV skills are mandatory.
  • Surgical care knowledge, including experience with robotics.
  • No mandatory standby requirement.
