About the role
Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 13-week assignment in Mt Vernon, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Supervise an experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST) working towards OR certification
- Scrub experience required due to CST supervision
- Perform pre-operative nursing duties including patient history and physical assessment, vital signs assessment, IV starts, and pre-op medication administration
- Gain intra-operative/circulating experience in various surgeries such as general surgery, orthopedic surgery, cataract procedures, C-sections, and trauma cases
- Assist in post-anesthesia recovery (PACU) by managing vital signs, sedation levels, pain management, oxygen administration, and blood pressure support
- Use Cerner charting software
- Handle anesthesia provider and surgeon call responsibilities during after-hours shifts
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
- OR experience with pre-op, intra-op, and PACU/post-op duties
- Experience with IV starts, pre-op medication administration, and vital signs assessment
- Knowledge of anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Ability to work independently and lead a small team
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing
- At least one year of operating room experience
- Experience with Cerner charting software
