Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,353 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Operating Room position in Concord, Massachusetts. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. Immediate start for an OR travel nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Serve as communication liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families medication and home‑care management.
• Additional duties for Circulating OR Nurses: respond to comfort and safety needs of patient; accurate care and handling of specimens; monitor equipment used during surgery; inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Additional duties for Scrub OR Nurses: selection and handling of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures; inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Additional duties for RN First Assistant: assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients following surgery.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment (e.g., 3 years experience noted).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs easily; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 lbs.
• Tolerance for exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases in the OR environment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

12‑hour day shifts, 36 hours per week.
