Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,565 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a 13‑week assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota. The position is in an outpatient oncology clinic working 4‑10‑hour day shifts (07:00‑17:30) with no weekends, no call, and no major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Room patients: obtain vital signs, review of systems, medication reconciliation, and weight
• Obtain orders and process patients for infusions; communicate if cleared
• Perform chart checks
• Set up for procedures
• Review referrals
• Act as first assist and chaperone for provider during exams and procedures
• Document using Epic Ambulatory
• Provide clinic‑based nursing care to adult patients (18+) with medical oncology/hematology, including pre‑ and post‑bone marrow transplant

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in current oncology experience
• Completion of at least one 13‑week travel assignment
• Required certifications: BLS; ONS (added 10/29/25); OCN preferred
• Proficiency with Epic Ambulatory (required)
• Ability to care for patients aged 18+ receiving medical oncology/hematology and BMT (pre‑ and post‑transplant)
• Comfortable seeing approximately 15‑25 patients per day with clinical assistant support

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, 4 × 10‑hour day shifts (07:00‑17:30)
• No weekends, no call, no major holidays; may work minor holidays when clinic is open
• Day off varies based on clinic needs each week
• Up to 7 days of time off (excluding holidays) possible with contract extension
