About the role
RN - Neonatal ICU (NICU) Unit Info: Level IV NICU (40 Beds) | Single-Family Rooms | Largest Level IV in Central Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Patient Population: Neonates (caring for micro-preemies
- Respiratory Care: Ventilators (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/PEEP), High Frequency Oscillators, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, Chest Tubes, Trach Care.
- Lines & Meds: UAC/UVC placement & management, Arterial lines, Central lines, IV therapy, Blood administration, Emergency/Anti-Seizure meds.
- GI & Surgical Care: Gavage/g-tube feedings, NEC management, Gastroschisis/Omphalocele, post-abdominal & cardiac surgery care.
- Specialized Care: Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), Thermoregulation, Phototherapy, Seizure management, Developmental Care.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of NICU RN experience required.
- Travel Experience: Required (Must have prior travel experience).
- Certifications: AHA BLS & NRP required.
- EMR: Epic proficiency strictly required (no exceptions).
