About the role

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) position is based in Laguna Hills, California. This role involves providing high-level neonatal care in a Level III or higher acuity environment. The position requires a committed healthcare professional to deliver quality bedside and charge nursing services within a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Minimum 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level neonatal care in a Level III or higher acuity environment
• Deliver bedside and charge nursing services
• Manage high acuity care, including 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios
• Handle high-risk deliveries and admits
• Care for neonates less than 24 weeks, 24-28 weeks, and 29-34 weeks
• Administer medications and perform neonatal procedures
• Utilize advanced monitoring systems
• Chart using EPIC and communicate via SBAR system
• Float between labor & delivery and other units as needed

Requirements

• Valid California RN license
• BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP certifications
• Minimum 3 years of solid NICU experience in a Level III or IV environment
• Experience with electronic fetal heart monitoring (EFM) preferred
• Proficiency with neonatal dosages and neonatal abstinence syndrome management preferred
