Job Summary
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position is available in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care for neonates in a high-acuity unit, supporting critically ill newborns with advanced ventilatory and procedural interventions.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12 hours, nights
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license
- CPR certification
- NRP certification
- Neonatal Phlebotomy experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a level 3 NICU or greater
- Proficiency with mechanical ventilation including High Frequency Ventilators (Jet or Oscillator)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with neonatal surgical recovery
- Certification in JTC Neonatal
Additional Information
- Unit features 40 beds with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:4
- Staffing includes 24-hour unit secretary and MD coverage
- Equipment includes Jet based High Frequency Ventilators, NAVA ventilators, and Meditech documentation system
- Procedures performed include circumcision, PDA ligation, chest tube placement, ROP, and total body cooling
- Nursing dress code: Navy attire
