Travel Nurse RN - NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - $1,845 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) position in Lafayette, Indiana. This is an immediate travel nursing opening with a 13‑week assignment, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. As a NICU RN you will provide critical care to sick and premature infants, work with the care team to deliver round‑the‑clock care, and support parents through emotional encouragement and guidance on infant care after discharge.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as incubators and ventilators
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Lift 10‑20 pounds of equipment as needed
• Be aware of potential hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent NICU/acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
