About the role
TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Cary, North Carolina. The position is for an immediate opening in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where you will provide critical care to sick and premature infants, support parents, and work alongside the care team to deliver round‑the‑clock care.
Responsibilities
- Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life.
- Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
- Provide arterial and intravenous therapy.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as incubators and ventilators.
Requirements
- 1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience (as stated in the posting).
- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications.
- 3 years experience (as noted in the Requirements line).
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop without difficulty.
- Ability to lift 10‑20 pounds of equipment.
- Prepared to face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.
