Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $2,260 per week
Job Summary
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry is needed for a healthcare organization in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves working night shifts on a dedicated Neuro MedSurg Acute unit, primarily caring for patients with stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and other neuroscience conditions. The role requires prior neuro unit experience, trauma experience, and travel nursing background.

- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

Qualifications
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS
- Required Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois license or confirmation that application has been initiated
- Active BLS and NIHSS certifications
- At least 1 year of clinical experience
- Prior neuro unit experience
- Trauma experience
- Previous travel experience (excluding first-time travelers)
Experience or Skills
- Prior neuro unit experience
- Experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
- Trauma experience
- Heparin titrated drip experience
- Ability to troubleshoot telemetry equipment
- Reading strips from Phillips monitors
- Float in rotation with staff as needed
Duties
- Managing neuro patients
- Titrating drips such as heparin based on PTT
- Troubleshooting high-flow oxygen devices (e.g., Ventilators, Cpap, Bipap)
- Participating in unit-specific orientation
