Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $3,074 per week

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment at Maine Medical Center (MMC) in Portland, ME. The position starts 10/05/2026, requires 48 hours per week (36 hours accepted) on 12‑hour night shifts, every other weekend, with no call. The role is on the R7 Transitional Care unit (46‑bed capacity, max RN‑to‑patient ratio 1:8) caring for mixed medical and surgical patients who are medically ready for discharge. Floating may be required based on clinical skills. EMR: Epic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a medical‑surgical transitional care unit.
• Manage care for medically complex patients preparing for discharge.
• Utilize specialty equipment including Stryker beds, Philips vital‑sign monitors, overhead lifts, Sara Stedy, standing scales, bladder scanners, HoverMatt, Sage mats, Synergy Air beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, walkers, and slide boards.
• Perform charge nurse duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic charting in Epic and complete assigned HealthStream modules.
• Adhere to dress code: scrubs any color, fragrance‑free environment, no artificial nails, graphic T‑shirts, hoodies, open‑toed shoes, or unprofessional attire/grooming.

Requirements

• Active Maine or compact RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Recent acute‑care experience required.
• Charge nurse experience.
• Strong electronic charting/EMR (Epic) experience.
• Completion of assigned HealthStream modules.
