A Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) units is needed for a healthcare facility located in Keyser, West Virginia. This role involves providing patient care in a 21-bed medical-surgical department with an average census of 15-16 patients. The position features 12-hour day shifts, with weekend schedules as required, and involves collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality nursing services.

- Position: Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) in an acute care division
- Location: Keyser, West Virginia
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with weekends as scheduled, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Floor utilizes monitor techs; RNs read telemetry strips frequently and may read their own strips
- Patient Care Technicians assist with patient care at a ratio of 1:5, with occasional team adjustments
- CPAP equipment used; telemonitoring frequent and shared among RNs
- No float requirements; no call or standby duties
- Meet with HR on the first day for department orientation and EPIC training if needed
- The unit does not require scrubs of a specific color
- Willing to comply with the 50-mile radius rule; all submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license
Requirements
- Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience, with at least 1 year in a medical-surgical setting
- Candidate must have a valid license to submit and be willing to wait for licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Dysrhythmia reading skills
- Experience with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, DM, HTN, post-op ortho, lap chole
