Job Summary

The organization is seeking a registered nurse for a Neuro Unit located in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with neurosciences-related diagnoses such as stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders. Candidates must bring their license on the first day and have a minimum of two years of experience in a relevant setting. The position requires flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, holidays, and possible float assignments.

Qualifications

  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIHSS (must be in hand at the time of submission)
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • ACLS
  • Certifications (Must have):
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIHSS
  • Experience:
    • 2 years minimum in a neuro-related setting
    • Recent Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience required
  • Qualifications:
    • Active license to practice as a registered nurse
    • Willing to wait for submission approval
    • Strong neuro experience
    • Proficiency with G-tubes
    • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • Schedule includes weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
  • Priority given to 7E, 7W, 7NE, 10E units
  • One shift on the unit
  • Unit-specific orientation is provided
  • Cancellation policy: two shifts per 13-week contract
  • Holiday rotation applies
  • Scrub color/code: any combination of white and royal blue

Additional Information

  • Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:5-6 for floor patients
  • Charge nurses and house supervisors available 24/7
  • RT equipment available 24/7; no vent management required by RNs
  • Telemetry monitors present; RNs do not have to read strips but must verify readings in Epic
  • Floating to other units (7E, 7W, 7NE, 10E) may be required, with priority given to these units first

Pay Package
