Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,525 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for an immediate opening in Racine, Wisconsin. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN (Med Surg) specialty, RN discipline, 13‑week travel assignment, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, employment type travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of the patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years referenced)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
