Travel Nurse RN - Long Term Acute Care - $1,810 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) position in Columbus, Ohio. The assignment is for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. The facility provides extended hospital‑level care to patients with serious medical conditions, including ventilator support, wound care, and post‑ICU recovery. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of recent LTAC or high‑acuity experience and be ready to deliver direct nursing care, monitor patients, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform head‑to‑toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, and monitor vital signs and lab results
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care, as well as advanced wound management
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers for ongoing treatment plans
• Support patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs, ensuring proper patient care delivery
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and facility safety standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status updates
• Document all care activities and interventions accurately and in real time
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience in a Long‑Term Acute Care or similar high‑acuity setting
• Current BLS certification
• Eligibility for state licensure
• ACLS certification (may be required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience indicated in the requirements
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
