Description
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the California Nurse Practice Act.
- Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency protocols when necessary.
- Cookordinate patient care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Administer medications, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted California RN license
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Advanced NRP certification required
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required
- AWHONN Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI) certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- ACLS (AHA) certification required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Must meet all Kern Medical employee health requirements
