General Information

Beds: 8
Accepts 1-year experienced travelers: No
Accepts first-time travelers: Yes, with L&D experience
Travelers must live >100 miles away from facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient Types: L&D, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, infants Level 2A Nursery – will care for sick babies
Post-surgical gynecological – preferred experience

Patient Ratios

• Laboring: 1:2
• Couplets: 1:3-4

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP

Required Education

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
• Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Skills Required

• EFM interpretation and intervention
• Adult and neonatal assessment skills
• Charting System: Epic

Floating Required

• Med/surg – as helping hands/in the role of a CNAC
• Candidates may be floated within scope of practice and below their level

Orientation

• (facility and unit)

Scheduling

• Weekend rotation: every other weekend

On Call

• If on call, schedule is LOC per census and LOC rotation

Holiday Expectations

• 3 holidays scheduled
• 1 on-call, rotating schedule

Approval of Time Off

• 2 gold tickets/year and request off before next schedule is posted
