Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse in Wausau This position involves providing specialized nursing care within an observation unit for adult patients. The role requires flexibility with rotating day/night shifts and includes floating to inpatient units as needed, ensuring optimal patient care and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to adult patients in an observation unit.
• Adapt to rotating day/night 12‑hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM).
• Float to inpatient units as needed, including ICU and clinical telemetry units.
• Read and interpret electrocardiogram (EKG) strips and manage cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin.
• Ensure optimal patient care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Work every other weekend and holiday.
• Wear a mask at all times during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccinations.

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum three years of recent clinical experience.
• Ability to interpret EKG strips.
• Experience with EPIC charting.
• Background in observation, medical‑surgical, or telemetry units.

Qualifications

• NIHSS certification (highly preferred).
• Experience reading and interpreting strips.
