Job Summary

The organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a step-down location in an intermediate care unit within a healthcare facility. The position involves working on a high-acuity unit with a focus on patients requiring cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, and post-surgical care. The RN will provide patient care in a fast-paced environment, adhering to unit policies and safety protocols.

Job Details

  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
  • Location: 2801 Debarr Road, Anchorage, AK 99508
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Shift Time: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Start Date: 08/04/2026

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Alaska Registered Nurse licensure at the time of submission
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • NIH-SS certification
  • A minimum of 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience and telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with trach patients requiring continuous BiPap/long-term vent support
  • Titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizam, amiodarone, and experience with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment

Patient Ratios

The patient to nurse ratio is 3:1.

Additional Information

  • Complete fingerprints during onboarding
  • Possess a valid Alaska RN license
  • Adaptable to a busy, team-focused, and fast-paced environment
  • Standard safety rounds, physical assessments, intake and output documentation every 4 hours, bedside handoff, and regular repositioning/ADLs are mandatory
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
