Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care - $2,450 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Intermediate Care position in an 8‑bed observation unit in Wausau, Wisconsin. The assignment begins on 11/08/2026, runs for 13 weeks, and requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4.
• Provide care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post‑op urology and GI conditions.
• Manage intravenous drips including Cardizem, nitroglycerin, insulin, and heparin.
• Monitor patient flow (stays typically up to 48 hours with frequent admissions and discharges).
• Float to other inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU.
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Wear scrubs of any color.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years RN experience with at least one completed travel assignment.
• Background in observation, MedSurg, or Telemetry.
• Active Wisconsin RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
• NIHSS certification highly preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Ability to interpret cardiac strips and pass EKG exam during compliance.
