Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care - $2,275 per week

About the Role

The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) nursing at a Baltimore-based facility. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced surgical step-down environment primarily caring for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity patient care in a surgical step-down environment
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries
• Manage a bedside patient ratio typically of 1:3 during the day and 1:4 at night
• Work 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Care for patients 1+ days post-CABG, valve repairs, and valve replacements
• Provide care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVADs or post-heart/lung transplant recovery

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of cardiac open-heart recovery experience
• At least 2 previous travel assignments
• Strong surgical intermediate care experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical Care Certification
• ACLS certification

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 08/17/2026

Unit Details

• 12 beds for IMC monitoring
• Remaining units for telemetry or non-monitored levels of care
