About the role
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing position is located in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing specialized critical care in a Level 3 trauma center with an 18-bed hospital that includes medical, surgical, and neuro-intensive care units. The position requires the ability to assess and manage critically ill patients, with a focus on medical conditions such as multisystem failure, sepsis, ARDS, and COVID-related cases.
Job Details
Location: 800 West Fifth Avenue, Spokane, WA 99204
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; attempt to cluster shifts when possible; no guaranteed shifts on holidays
- Hours per week: Minimum of 36 hours
- Start date: 09/08/2026
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required before start)
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill patients with conditions such as multisystem failure, sepsis, ARDS, and COVID-related cases
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate medications
- Perform proning and manage hypothermia protocols
- Manage chest tubes, drains, and invasive lines (a-lines, CVP)
- Support ventilated patient mobilization and ambulation
- Perform peripheral draws by phlebotomy
- Float to respiratory, surgical, telemetry, or progressive care units as required
Requirements
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- 0 years of experience; flexibility with travel experience if ICU experience is sufficient
- Current Washington state license or compact license preferred

- General orientation plus 2x 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation
