Job Summary

Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing advanced nursing care for high-acuity patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery and with multiple comorbidities. Candidates will work night shifts to support the clinical needs of the facility.

Schedule

Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week. Duration: 13 weeks. Start Date: 08/24/2026.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA only)
  • RN license in Texas or a compact state
  • At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; 0 years minimum experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery
  • Impella device
  • Balloon Pump
  • Artic Sun
  • TABLO XT/CRRT
  • Handling high-acuity patients with multiple drips and comorbidities
  • Previous Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently practicing nursing in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing patient assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions, and evaluations
  • Administering medications and treatments using appropriate protocols
  • Documenting patient information accurately
  • Providing education to patients and their families
  • Making appropriate clinical assignments and delegations
  • Promoting patient safety and comfort

Position Requirements

  • Newly hired RNs must attend the New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
  • Complete designated onboarding and competency validation, including critical care-specific requirements
  • Fulfill annual competency verification

Additional Information

The position is two openings with one offer already made. Candidates should have a strong knowledge base and experience in managing high-acuity and post-surgical patients, including familiarity with advanced medical devices and treatments.
