Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing advanced nursing care for high-acuity patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery and with multiple comorbidities. Candidates will work night shifts to support the clinical needs of the facility.
Schedule
Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week. Duration: 13 weeks. Start Date: 08/24/2026.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA only)
- RN license in Texas or a compact state
- At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; 0 years minimum experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery
- Impella device
- Balloon Pump
- Artic Sun
- TABLO XT/CRRT
- Handling high-acuity patients with multiple drips and comorbidities
- Previous Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Independently practicing nursing in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing patient assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions, and evaluations
- Administering medications and treatments using appropriate protocols
- Documenting patient information accurately
- Providing education to patients and their families
- Making appropriate clinical assignments and delegations
- Promoting patient safety and comfort
Position Requirements
- Newly hired RNs must attend the New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
- Complete designated onboarding and competency validation, including critical care-specific requirements
- Fulfill annual competency verification
