Job Summary

Located in Newark, New York, this House Supervisor Level 1 position offers an opportunity to oversee clinical operations during night shifts. The role involves coordinating patient care, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth facility operations during evenings and overnight hours within a 180-bed healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care and supervise staff during night shifts
  • Ensure smooth facility operations during evenings and overnight hours
  • Manage staff mentorship, clinical problem-solving, and patient flow across multiple units
  • Oversee nursing care and organizational escalation procedures
  • Manage assaultive behavior and emergency preparedness
  • Supervise infection control and regulatory compliance

Shift Details

Nights; schedule includes 3, 8-hour shifts and 1, 12-hour shift per week, totaling 36 hours. Night shift coverage with potential floating staff, on an as-needed basis, with flexible scheduling hours. Orientation is held during daytime hours in the first week of assignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid New York State RN license in hand
  • 1 year of recent clinical experience
  • EPIC charting system experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a charge nurse or supervisory role
  • Experience managing a geriatric patient population
  • Familiarity with specialized equipment such as wound vacs, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, and other clinical devices
  • Experience managing narcotic diversion
  • Exposure to EMR conversions or new equipment

Patient Caseload & Unit Details

The RN supervisor manages staff mentorship, clinical problem-solving, and patient flow for a facility with an average daily census of 180 residents across multiple units, including neurobehavioral, rehab, and long-term care units. Units care for residents with diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, orthopedic postoperative care, cardiac conditions, and long-term residents.
