Travel Nurse RN - Float Private Duty - $1,934 per week

About the Role

Protouch Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Private Duty for a local contract position in Ashburn, Virginia. The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide private-duty nursing care to a middle school female student in both homecare and public school classroom settings. The position begins at 40 hours per week with approximately 4 hours per week of direct student care, gradually increasing over time until transitioning to full-time care for the assigned student. When not providing direct care, the nurse will float to area public schools as a 1:1 substitute nurse or assist in school health offices. The role includes accompanying the student on school bus transportation once private school placement is secured. This is a 35-week travel contract with an ASAP start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to a middle school female student in home and school settings.
• Monitor seizure activity and respond appropriately to seizure episodes.
• Administer seizure rescue medication as required.
• Assist with the student's personal hygiene and healthcare needs.
• Support the student's medical and behavioral needs in the classroom.
• Float to area schools as a 1:1 substitute nurse or assist in the school health office when not assigned to the student.
• Collaborate with school staff, healthcare professionals, and Student Health Services.
• Accompany the student on school bus transportation once private school placement is secured.

Requirements

• Active RN license (required).
• Female RN requested by the parent due to the student's personal hygiene care needs.
• Seizure monitoring, seizure response, and administration of seizure rescue medication (required).
• Ability to provide nursing care in homecare and public school settings.
• Willingness to float to other area schools when not providing direct student care.
