Travel Nurse RN - Float - $2,300 per week

About the Role

Medical Surgical Float Position in an acute care facility. This role involves providing general medical-surgical nursing care across multiple units within a large hospital setting. The position requires flexibility to float between departments as needed, supporting patient care across a diverse population with varying diagnoses and treatment needs.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 09/07/2026
• End Date: 02/08/2027 (22 weeks duration)
• Scheduled as 3 weekends in 4 weeks
• May be called off up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment as per policy

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical-surgical nursing care across multiple units
• Float between departments as needed
• Complete supplemental Jump Start orientation, including 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation plus Epic classes
• Support the unit during weekends

Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care environments
• Minimum of 1 year of experience at a facility with 450+ beds
• IN license (or compact license as of 7/1/20) required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Willingness to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multiple medical-surgical units
• Skills in assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, and utilization of Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Proficiency with IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, management of heparin and insulin drips, and IV therapy management
• Familiarity with Epic electronic record system, Pyxis medication machines, Accucheck blood glucose monitoring, Hospira IV pumps, SCDs for VTE prevention, and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to float to other medical units

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
