About the role

Medical Surgical Float Nurse will provide care for a diverse patient population with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. This role involves working in general medical and surgical units, performing assessments, care planning, and utilizing electronic health records to deliver quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical and surgical nursing care
• Manage patient assessments and care planning
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) for documentation and care delivery
• Communicate and collaborate with inter‑professional team members
• Float to other medical units as needed

Requirements

• Indiana RN license (or compact license effective 7/1/2020)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care settings
• At least 1 year of experience at a facility with 450+ beds

Qualifications

• Experience in large hospital settings
• Proficient in EPIC electronic records
• Ability to float to other medical units as needed

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
