Medical Surgical Float Nurse position at a Level 2 Trauma Center in Fargo, ND. The role involves providing compassionate, patient-centered care across multiple med-surg units in a busy hospital environment, requiring adaptability to float between departments and work in a fast-paced setting with a focus on head-to-toe assessments, medication administration, wound care, and documentation. The nurse provides nursing care within the trauma center, covering multiple med-surg units including oncology, cardiac, neuro, and behavioral health, and is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration by various routes, wound and line care, and documentation within the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care across multiple med-surg units (oncology, cardiac, neuro, behavioral health).
• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including head-to-toe evaluations.
• Administering medications via various routes.
• Performing wound and line care.
• Documenting patient care in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Floating between departments and campuses, including overflow spaces and critical care units.
• Completing orientation: one full shift on each designated med-surg unit with campus tours and team integration during the first week.
• Badging in and out at the facility.
• Adhering to the facility scrub dress code (navy blue).
