About the role
Travel nursing assignment at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Unit: Endoscopy Laboratory (73310).
- Number of Beds: 9
- Number of Staff: 11 FT/PT, 2 PRN
- Day Shift: 6-7 RNs and 2 techs per day
- Patient Ratios: Intra-op team of 2:1 patient, pre/post-op 1 RN:2 patients
- Equipment: Olympus endoscopes and reprocessing
- EMR: Meditech
Responsibilities
- Perform basic and interventional/therapeutic endoscopy procedures on high-acuity patients alongside highly specialized physicians
- Circulate and assist with tech procedures
- Infection control, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes
- On-call shifts: 2 opening shifts per month (6A to 5:30P), 3-4 weeknight shifts per month (Monday-Thursday 5:30P to 7A), 1 Friday shift per month (5:30P to 11P), and 1-2 weekend shifts per month (Saturday 11P to Sunday 7A)
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year current acute care Endoscopy RN experience
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- PACU experience
- Experience with Olympus scopes and reprocessing
- ACLS certification

- EBUS (variations of each procedure)
