Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,450 per week

Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role involves providing acute care in a Level 2 trauma ER with a patient volume of approximately 100-105 patients per day. The ER team handles a range of cases, including chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, and pediatric cases, with roughly 10% pediatric patient involvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care in a Level 2 trauma ER.
• Manage cases such as chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, and pediatric emergencies.
• Work rotating shifts, including 12-hour shifts with varying start times.
• Perform on-call duties and holiday rotations.
• Read telemonitor strips; monitors are available at designated zones and charge nurse areas.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks.
• 36 hours per week.
• Shift: 12 hours, with coverage from 6:45 am to 7:15 pm, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, and 1:00 pm to 1:00 am.
• Rotating shifts, including day, evening, and overnight hours.

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, Camelot CPI, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, NRP, and TNCC certifications.
• At least 1 year of ER experience.
• Wyoming licensure or eligible to practice in Wyoming.

Qualifications

• Travel ER experience preferred.

Work Environment

• ER staffed with at least 2 physicians and mid-level providers.
• Support staff includes technicians, paramedics, sitters for psychiatric patients, and 24/7 respiratory therapists.
• Critical drips managed on the unit.
• X-ray and CT services adjacent to the ER for quick transport.
• Orientation: 1.5 days on the unit.
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs without logos; professional scrub jackets permitted.
