Travel Nurse RN - CVOR - $2,950 per week

Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Open Heart procedures in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves supporting anesthesia providers and surgical teams across a variety of specialty cases, with a main focus on cardiothoracic surgery. The role requires a flexible, resilient, and motivated professional capable of managing change and providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide range of OR cases, including heart surgeries, traumas, elective, and general surgeries
• Provide strong OR and Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) circulating experience
• Support anesthesia providers and surgical teams with procedures such as conscious sedation, intubations, fiber optic scopes, and sterile techniques for central lines, arterial lines, lumbar drains, Swan-Ganz catheters
• Handle IV starts, labs, medication pumps, Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level I equipment

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing
• WI RN License or compact RN license
• 3+ years of operating room and anesthesia experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in OR
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Vehicle required due to 30-minute response time
• Mandatory flu and COVID-19 vaccination policy; mask requirements for non-vaccinated travelers during flu season

Schedule

• 13-week contract
• Rotating 8-hour shifts
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Start Date: 07/27/2026
• Orientation period of two weeks with additional training as needed
