Responsibilities

• Provide cardiac progressive care unit nursing, including telemetry monitoring.
• Complete skills checklists accurately.
• Manage cardiac IV and PO medications, cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin).
• Handle anticoagulant therapy, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post‑op CABG (>3 days), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, observation patients.
• Perform TR band use, groin management, and recognize complications.
• Work with TAVR, Watchman, mitral clip, heart catheterization, pre‑op/post‑op open heart cases (when transferred out of CVICU).

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience.
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry/step‑down/PCU setting.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

Skills

• Telemetry skills checklist completion.
• Proficiency with TAVR, Watchman, mitral clip, heart catheterization procedures.
• Pre‑op and post‑op open heart care (post‑CVICU transfer).
• Administration of cardiac IV/PO medications and drips (cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin).
• Management of anticoagulant therapy, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post‑op CABG (>3 days), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, observation patients.
• Use of TR band and groin management; ability to identify complications.

Schedule

36 hours per week, 12‑hour rotating shifts, every other weekend, 13‑week assignment.
