Job Summary
Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Concord, NC. This role involves working in a Prep/Recovery unit (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) designated for patients following catheterization, vascular, and electrophysiology procedures. The position requires providing exceptional post-procedural care, including neurovascular checks and site management, for a diverse patient population with cardiac diagnoses.
Job Details
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care (CCU), Post Anesthesia Care (PACU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience; 0 years minimum experience.
Location Requirements
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles outside the facility's location.
Responsibilities
Caring for patients post cardiac and vascular procedures, neurovascular checks including Dopplers, managing moderate sedation, site management including femoral or radial access, occasionally managing multiple devices such as swan or pacing wires, and monitoring vital signs and device outputs.
Equipment: EKG, iSTAT, glucometers, monitors, IV pumps, Alaris infusion pumps, medication dispensing systems.
Support: Telemetry monitoring, RT (Respiratory Therapy) staff available 24/7, hospitalist services (APPs and NP) available from 6:30 am to 7 pm, occasional support from charge nurses.
Orientation: Facility and unit-specific, typically 1-2 precepted shifts.
Floating: Possibility to float to Electrophysiology and procedural areas, to be discussed during interview.
Scrubs: Provided (green).
Parking: Free, designated parking available.
