About the role
This position involves providing respiratory and neuro diagnostic services in the NICU setting. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of adult critical care, aerosol setup, and various procedures related to respiratory and neurological diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures under supervision
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage neonatal patients
- Manage ventilators and perform various ventilator-related tasks
- Collect and interpret arterial blood gases
- Provide chest physiotherapy and suctioning as needed
- Manage tracheostomy care and perform extubations
- Manage medications and treatments as prescribed
- Interpret and troubleshoot alarms on ventilators
- Wean patients from mechanical ventilation as appropriate
- Document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR)
Requirements
- Current ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP certifications
- Valid Virginia state license
- 4 years of relevant experience

- Experience with adult critical care
- Knowledge of aerosol set up and management
- Ability to assist in high-risk deliveries
- Experience with various respiratory and neurological diagnostic tools
- Strong communication and documentation skills
