About the role

This position involves providing respiratory and neuro diagnostic services in the NICU setting. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of adult critical care, aerosol setup, and various procedures related to respiratory and neurological diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures under supervision
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage neonatal patients
• Manage ventilators and perform various ventilator-related tasks
• Collect and interpret arterial blood gases
• Provide chest physiotherapy and suctioning as needed
• Manage tracheostomy care and perform extubations
• Manage medications and treatments as prescribed
• Interpret and troubleshoot alarms on ventilators
• Wean patients from mechanical ventilation as appropriate
• Document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR)

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP certifications
• Valid Virginia state license
• 4 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge of aerosol set up and management
• Ability to assist in high-risk deliveries
• Experience with various respiratory and neurological diagnostic tools
• Strong communication and documentation skills
