Travel Neuro PCU RN - $1,904 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit position in Roanoke, Virginia. The assignment is for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough for ICU care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• At least 1 year of recent PCU/acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
