Travel MRI Technologist - $3,076 per week

TotalMed Allied is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency with the mission of igniting purpose in healthcare. They staff nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other clinicians in all 50 states, offering local and travel jobs. They are seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Marion, Illinois. The position requires 40 hours per week, evening shifts (8 hours), and is a travel employment type.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging
• State‑specific licensing when required
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
