Located in a healthcare facility, the position involves telemetry monitoring, care of cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem, and managing a diverse patient population including general, thoracic, vascular, uro, gyn, ortho, and podiatry. This role requires the ability to read telemetry strips and work across related med-surg units including behavioral health and emergency department settings. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with minimum of 48 hours per week Required Qualifications: Current Medical Surgical (MS) and/or post-operative care experience in a hospital setting (minimum 2 years) Telemetry strip reading experience EPIC electronic medical record system experience Surgical care experience with patient types as listed Experience with patient-controlled analgesics (PCA), epidurals, chest tubes, and continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs) Active Iowa nurse license or multi-state compact license Valid drivers license BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ARC No first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel contract within the previous 12 months Preferred Qualifications: Professional references within the past 24 months from supervisor, nurse manager, or director Additional Information: Orientation date is scheduled for 10/05/2026 Unit requires staff to work 1-2 of the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years) unless the unit is closed No call required Every other weekend and holiday coverage expected Benefits The benefits of taking a travel assignment with Cross Country include: Private housing or generous housing allowance Comprehensive health insurance with prescription coverage Dependent health insurance with prescription coverage Competitive salaries Referral bonuses Travel reimbursement 401(k) retirement plan Direct deposit/free checking Unlimited free CE credits Cross Country Job ID #1316520.
