About the role

Travel nursing position in Alexandria, Louisiana for a Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) unit. The 36-bed unit is staffed by 32 team members, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, techs, and secretaries. The role involves managing complex clinical procedures in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 6 to 1. Telemetry and other advanced equipment are utilized. Float rotation may be required, covering all Medical Surgical and Telemetry floors.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a 36-bed Medical Surgical with Telemetry unit
• Perform typical procedures including heart catheterizations
• Adhere to unit policies and wear ceil blue scrubs as dress code
• Work every other weekend or two full weekends per month, including on-call shifts
• Manage Meditech electronic medical records

Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Completed Med Surg (Medical Surgical) and Telemetry (Tele) experience
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Must be at least 50 miles from the facility's location

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Minimum 36 hours per week
