Job Summary

The medical surgical floor nursing position is located in an acute care facility in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This role involves providing care to patients with various medical conditions, including strokes, COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and post-surgical care. The position requires working days shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 07/27/2026.

Job Details

Required Qualifications

• Valid license to submit; willingness to wait for license
• BLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with stroke patients
• Familiarity with Epic electronic charting system
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Experience after TPA or lower level stroke care
• Familiarity with NIHSS assessment
• Experience managing COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and surgical overflow patients
• Handling catchall cases such as thyroidectomy

Additional Information

• All submittals must include an unexpired copy of the candidates drivers license
• The unit notes indicate that NIHSS experience would be a plus
• The facility operates with Epic for charting
• Prior travel experience is highly preferred

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
