Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $2,035 per week

About the role

This Medical Surgical Floor nurse position is located in Salem, Virginia, within a busy orthopedic, neuro, and pediatric care unit. The role involves providing high-quality care to post-operative orthopedic, spine surgical, podiatry, and pediatric patients. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to post-operative orthopedic, spine surgical, podiatry, and pediatric patients
• Collaborate with a team including clinical coordinators, registered nurses, technicians, and unit secretary
• Maintain excellent communication and a team-oriented attitude
• Adhere to dress code: navy blue or white scrubs, no hoodies, pull-overs, or T-shirts

Required Qualifications

• Valid Virginia nursing license
• BLS certification
• 1 year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification
• Experience caring for pediatric patients
• Familiarity with post-operative orthopedic care

Additional Details

• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Float rotation may be required
• Unit: 30 beds with potential to expand to 36, staff of 45 employees
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, SCDs
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
• Unit maintains Joint Commission certification for hip and knee replacements
• Unit has received recognition for outstanding patient experience scores
