About the Role

A Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse is needed for a healthcare organization in a teaching hospital environment. The position involves working on a diabetic renal unit during night shifts, serving as a charge RN, contributing to a collaborative team environment, and supporting student and new hire development.

Schedule

Night shift, 12‑hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Assignment runs from 10/19/2026 to 03/06/2027 (20 weeks).

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience in relevant specialty
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Active VA or Compact license at time of submission
• Prior travel experience (mandatory)
• Charge nurse experience (required)
• RTO information included in submission packet

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching hospital experience
• Charge nurse experience

• Position involves working in a diabetic renal unit
• Limited flexibility for time off (RTO) and potential assignment cancellations up to 36 hours prior due to census changes
• Travel is required; candidate must work at least one major holiday during the assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
