Travel Medical-Surgical Rehabilitation Floor RN - $1,820 per week

About the role

Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor nurse in Salem, Virginia. This position involves providing inpatient rehabilitative care to patients requiring specialized medical-surgical interventions. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and functional independence. The unit has 35 beds with patient ratios of 5-7:1, and staff may be floated to other Medical Surgical departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administering medications
• IV therapy including PICC lines and PEG tubes
• Bladder scans
• Tracheostomy care
• Tube feedings
• Foley catheter management
• Bladder irrigation
• Blood administration
• Working with essential equipment such as vitals machines, Baxter intravenous pumps, sequential compression devices, and bladder scanners
• Documentation using Meditech

Requirements

• VA State Nursing License
• BLS certification
• Experience in Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Rehabilitation experience highly preferred
