Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Nurse in Salem, Virginia. This position involves providing patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient functional independence. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered outcomes.

Schedule

• Days shifts, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum of 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a 35-bed unit with patient ratios of 5-7:1
• Perform procedures including medication administration, IV therapy, bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter care, bladder irrigation, and blood administration
• Document patient care using Meditech system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiatrist, physician assistant, and neuropsychologist to facilitate patient rehabilitation and goals
• Float rotation may be required to other medical-surgical departments

Requirements

• Valid Virginia nursing license
• Experience in medical-surgical or progressive care units
• BLS certification
• Located in or willing to relocate to Salem, Virginia

Unit Details

• 35-bed unit
• Staffed with 2-4 technicians per census
• Equipment used: vitals machines, Baxter intravenous pumps, sequential compression devices, bladder scanners
• Dress code: navy blue or white solid scrubs

Preferred Qualifications

• Rehabilitation experience
• Advanced clinical skills (not required)
