Travel Medical-Surgical Oncology RN - $2,380 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Hematology / Oncology for a travel nursing job in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

This position involves providing specialized nursing care in an oncology unit within a hospital setting. The role requires coordinating patient treatment plans, performing assessments, and delivering education to patients and families while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.

Schedule

• Days shift
• 8 hours per shift
• Minimum of 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient assessment, care planning, and discharge planning
• Coordinates patient treatment plans and performs assessments
• Delivers education to patients and families
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care
• Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex oncologic needs
• Uses healthcare standards, policies, and procedures
• Contributes to quality improvement activities
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or ASN/ADN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC
• At least 2 years of outpatient chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience
• Epic experience required
• Experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions
• Experience with blood product administration
• Experience with IV iron/fluids/electrolytes
• Experience with port lab draws/injections
• Experience with patient/family education and emotional support

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing
