Travel Medical-Surgical Oncology RN - $2,285 per week

Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing specialized care for patients with various types of cancer, including hematology and radiation oncology, in a 19-bed unit with private rooms. The RN will administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, monitor patient side effects, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality oncology care.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts starting at 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule may include flexible days and units depending on the needs of the healthcare provider and the patient census.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated;
• BLS (AHA);
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate;
• at least 1 year of relevant experience;
• experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens and handling precautions;
• ability to monitor for medication side effects;
• familiarity with administration of set rate drips such as heparin and chemotherapy bags;
• basic telemonitoring skills using Phillips monitors;
• and specific certifications as listed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hematology and radiation oncology patients;
• ability to troubleshoot Bipap and Cpap equipment managed by respiratory therapy;
• ability to read telemetry strips.

Additional Information

• The unit utilizes Epic Beacon for EMR documentation and employs a float rotation for RNs.
• The team works every other weekend and holiday, and self-scheduling is coordinated with designated staff.
• Orientation includes 24-36 hours of training.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
