Travel Medical Surgical Oncology RN - $2,055 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing assignment in Bristol, Tennessee. The position is a 13‑week contract, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, with immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative cases.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (Medical Surgical/Telemetry).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Qualifications

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty; capable of lifting 20 lb routinely and up to 50 lb when moving patients.

Skills

• Effective communication and patient education.

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with confused, agitated, or uncooperative patients.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
