Job Summary

The role involves providing specialized nursing care on a neuro-focused unit, supporting patient safety and comfort through collaborative team efforts. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to work with advanced equipment and participate in patient-centered procedures.

Position Description

• Works in a 30-bed neuro unit, currently at 18 beds with renovations underway, utilizing a team nursing approach supported by skilled unit secretaries and technicians.
• Schedule involves night shifts, working 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours weekly, and includes every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Required Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale
• Valid licensure as a registered nurse

Education and Experience

• Nursing degree from an accredited program
• No minimum experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurology or neuro-focused nursing settings

Additional Information

• Candidates must perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reports, adhere to unit policies, and dress code of navy scrubs.
• Floating to similar units may be required based on staffing needs.
• Knowledge of Meditech documentation system and proficiency with neuro-specific procedures preferred.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
